Create a Quote Template (from an existing Quote)

Templates can be created from any Quote. If you have created a Quote that you know you will use again, follow these steps to save it as a Template for future use:

1. Create a Quote or open an existing Quote
2. Click Menu > Save As Quote Template
3. Give your new Template a name
4. Choose which rates the Template should use:
   • Check Use Template Rates to save the rates from this Quote, including any adjustments and flags
   • Leave Use Template Rates unchecked to use the Rate Card rates each time the Template is used
5. Click Save

Your new Template will be saved against the Project Type of the Quote you created it from. Each Project Type has its own distinct list of Quote Templates, and the Templates themselves can be shared across many Project Types.

Please Note: If you are building a Template from nothing rather than from a Quote raised for a real project, you need somewhere for the working Quote to live. Many clients set up an internal Project and Product named Templates specifically for this purpose, and build all their Template Quotes there. This keeps them separate from live client work.
