User Groups are pre-defined sets of permissions which define the areas of iCFM that Users are granted, or not granted, access to, and when you assign a User to a Group they automatically take on the group permissions*
For example, Producers (by default) can create Quotes, view the Schedule, and create Invoices, but cannot add or edit User details; whereas Runners would not be able to see financial reporting information, or staff rates of pay by default.
It is important to put Users into the most appropriate Group so that they are not given access to restricted tools or sensitive data. We recommend using our default groups to begin with and, if required, you can fine-tune the permissions at any time.
User Groups | Description |
---|---|
Accounting | Limited access to production capabilities, but enhanced permissions for accounting & reporting |
Admin | Full user permissions |
Artists | Usually used only for Artists who are using iCFM to view the Schedule alone |
FL Producers | Freelance Producers, which may be more temporary staff with identical permissions |
Library | Primarily assigned to Media/Library/MCR users who are accessing iCFM's media functions |
Operations | |
Producers | Best permission assigned for Producers, with limited Admin Options permissions |
Reception | Limited access with access to schedule |
Runners | Ability to view |
Scheduling | Similar to Producer users, however, limited visibility to finance reporting |
Sys Admin | Technical users who might make changes to the system |
*Please note: Any Permissions set at the user level will not be changed upon changing user groups.
